Lake Powell {McKell Family Vacation 2012}

Aaron kept telling me before the trip that Lake Powell is the prettiest place on Earth without trees.  And it is.  It really is.

When we first pulled up to the marina, I was taken aback by the huge red rocks jutting up from the water.  The red rock is such a stark contrast to the blue-green water. It is all so striking.  I never could get over the beauty for the whole week we were there.

Now that I have been on a house boat, I can say that I am officially a fan.  I loved sleeping outside, waking up to a wakeboarding session, hopping on to a sea doo whenever we pleased and having themed dinners every night.  Life on Lake Powell seems like heaven, even when you do have the major boat misshap (won't go in to details on that one, but it did result in a 3 hour team effort of crossing the lake while Mark/Aaron/Adam rotated being the "human ore").  Oh the memories. Of course, the best part of the week was having the whole family together again--even Elder Austin McKell made an appearance (the cardboard version, of course).

Most of the week we had fun taking pictures with Mark and Susan's new camera, so I took few pictures using my iPhone but here they are!
